Happy Halloween: Rhythmic Pumpkin

So this one was my favorite subject wise. I like the texture of the pumpkin and it's stump with the wall of green behind it.  I also really like the repetition of the lighter orange spots on the humps of the pumpkin. But I did not choose to work with it because of it's blurriness.

This was my second favorite out f the batch. Again the texture of the pumpkin against the line of the house is really nice. Since it seemed to be the least fuzzy, i decided to work with it.

This is what I ended up with. I cropped it and saturated some things, and played around with the colors.  I didn't really know what I was doing. But, I think it looks okay in the end. Compositionally I achieved what I wanted, contrast between the textures of the house and the pumpkin.

Goal in taking Intro to Digital Imaging and favorite photographer

In taking Intro to Digital media, I hope to gain a more in depth understanding of Photoshop and other CS5 programs.  I’m not the best at taking photos and I don’t have a very nice camera, so hopefully this class will help my mediocre photos look somewhat presentable. I’m also getting into web and graphic design and hope to possibly do that as a career, I think this class will help with those aspirations.

I just discovered this photographer Marina Richter.  Her photos look like she’s taken one or two design elements/ideas, focused on them, and then captured those elements in a photo. They are so focused in intent, while making the viewer feel so overwhelmed.  It’s awesome. I think her work will help me in this class because of how inspired I am feeling looking at it.
